Founder & Chief Architect at OIMP.space
Gérard Scheitler is the Founder & Chief Architect of OIMP.space™, a Luxembourg-based initiative focused on operational resilience, incident management, governance and risk within increasingly complex space systems.
Building on more than 25 years of experience in mission-critical IT and operational environments, he is applying established incident management, service continuity, risk governance and operational decision-making practices to the rapidly evolving space sector.
His space-sector development includes the ESA Mission Operations Academy at ESOC in Darmstadt, together with specialist training and continued professional development across space operations, satellite systems, space resources and mining, operational safety, resilience and cybersecurity.
Through OIMP.space™, Gérard researches and develops practical approaches for managing anomalies, disruptions and emerging operational risks across satellite operations and future space infrastructure. His work also examines the operational challenges associated with emerging activities such as lunar and space-resource operations, where industrial expansion will introduce new requirements for incident coordination, investigation, governance and operational resilience.
As an EU Space Academy mentor, Gérard brings together extensive operational experience, dedicated space-sector training and independent OIMP.space™ research to support entrepreneurs and emerging space organisations in strengthening operational readiness, resilience, incident response and governance.
