Technologist at Agenzia Spaziale Italiana
I am Giorgio Licciardi, a technologist at the Italian Space Agency, specializing in EO data exploitation, with a focus on PRISMA hyperspectral data. I earned my master’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering and my PhD in “Geoinformation” from the University of Tor Vergata, Rome, Italy, in 2005 and 2010, respectively. From 2010 to 2019, I worked as a postdoctoral researcher and research engineer at GIPSA-Lab, Laboratoire Grenoblois de l’Image, de la Parole, du Signal et de l’Automatique. Between 2019 and 2021, I served as a senior researcher at the Multidisciplinary Institute of Artificial Intelligence in Grenoble. My primary research interests include hyperspectral image processing, particularly information extraction techniques, spectral unmixing, super-resolution, and pansharpening. I am also the founder of two innovative startups: AIPerion, which provides a SaaS supporting the crop insurances in estimating damages due to extreme weather events, and Sol Invictus, a software to estimate solar irradiation over photovoltaic power plants.
